Background
Director of One Workplace, Bianca Friedman, is a trusted and highly-skilled workplace relations advisor, investigator and mediator.
Bianca commenced her career as an employment lawyer at top tier law firm, King & Wood Mallesons, acting for employers in a wide range of industries, in both front-end and back-end matters. Bianca also regularly contributed to employment law journals. While working at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and ANZ, Bianca gained an in-depth understanding of managing workplace issues in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.
Bianca’s clients describe her as being personable and empathetic. Coming from a long line of business owners, business is in Bianca’s blood. For as long as she can remember, Bianca was exposed to the challenges of managing staff and gained a deep understanding about the benefits of creating safe, respectful and positive workplaces.
Qualifications and Expertise
Bianca is a qualified lawyer, with a Bachelor of Arts/Laws (First Class Honours) from Monash University. She has a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Bianca’s expertise includes providing strategic advice and support to clients regarding:
- workplace misconduct (including disciplinary and dismissal processes);
- personal illness/injury and long-term absence from work matters;
- performance management;
- workplace policies and employee entitlements; and
- investigation and conflict/complaint resolution processes.
Bianca has extensive experience conducting sensitive and complex workplace investigations into a variety of allegations of misconduct. Bianca adopts a fair, efficient, rigorous and trauma informed investigation process.
Bianca is also a nationally accredited mediator (NMAS), having completed her training with the Resolution Institute. Clients value her practical and sensitive approach in helping parties improve their working relationship.
